I just wanted to drop a quick note and thank all you lovely SASSY women (and men!) for supporting us over the past two years. We lost a little fire this year (and many writers) but we are still here. In the next year, we are refocusing a bit and adding a few new awesome writers but we will still remain the spot for all you smart, ambitious, sexy, sophisticated and young women.
You may have noticed a lot of the writers went off and started their own blogs – check out Bari at Vain, Christian Law at Fresher Than Chris, K Fresh at Damn Kam, La Donna at her personal blog, Manny Fresh at The Benevolent Baron, Roxanne at her own blog and Tara at The Young Mommy Life. The other writers are doing big things too: Leah finished her PhD and is now a professor at Wesleyan, Mo married Manny Fresh, Moira’s about to begin training for another marathon and Stacey became a licensed social worker.
I wanted to give a special should out to Lady D. You really held me down this year and I sincerely appreciate it. She is still running things over at Her Journey Magazine.
Thank you all so much,
e.

Awww, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SASSY!
Wow, SASSY writers are really doing big things!
And it is always my pleasure to support something as special as SASSY.
To an even greater year ahead. Cheers!
I’ve been thinking about it, and I realized that I hold SASSY in a special place in my heart because we were united during an interesting time in my life. Having just graduated from college a few months prior and already experienced being “laid off,” I was definitely having one of those soul searching moments. I really don’t even remember how I found out about SASSY (I think it was on Facebook somehow), and it really grabbed my attention. A site for twenty somethings who felt just like me! And it was my first opportunity to be a part of a writing team, and I really felt as if I was taking a step in the right direction towards my purpose.
Ever since then I’ve loved it. Even though many of us have endless questions, we are still able to support and help guide each other in some way. THANK YOU for that!
