It’s a New Year. What’s on your list of resolutions? Getting more organized? Shedding some pounds. Saving lots of money? Find the love of your life? SASSY’s here to help.
Get Organized
I’m always looking for new ways to be organized, efficient and productive. I’m currently trying to maximize the use of my Blackberry but am finding myself missing my planners. Kimberly Wilson recently did a whole podcast on planners. D.I.Y Planner offers tons of templates and suggestions for purchasing planners. If you prefer the virtual to do list, check out jott.com or evernote.com.
Weight Loss
Now is the time to join a gym (if your budget allows). Gyms are having super sales right now, so why not cash in? Weight Watchers is having a mega sale too. If you want to go the free route, team up with some friends, buy some work out DVDs (I recommend the Firm) and work out together. Over at Sweet Potato, she offers lots of tips on weight loss. You can get free recipes from the food network’s website - you can perform searches based on your dietary needs.
Save Money
We’ve said it before but budget budget budget (and stick to the budget) and then save. Try high interest accounts like ING. Read books on money management, such as Women and Money. I put aside my savings the day I get paid. It’s never too late to start the save $1000 in 30 days challenge.
Looking for Love
My friends and I have dubbed ourselves “Team Love” (t-shirts coming soon (for real)). It’s all about love in the 09. I don’t have the answers (Bari might) but we’re going to try to make it happen. From looking for love on the internet to speed dating to old fashioned going out and meeting new people, we are trying it all and suggest you do too.
Something Larger? Trying to start your own business, buy a house, or go back to school or whatever? Create steps you can complete now so that you’re closer to your goal by the end of the year.
So what are you plan for 2009? Share them, we’d love to hear.
Good luck ladies,
e.

I think I am working on all of those areas except the love part (taking a small break).
My number 1 goal for 09 is to make myself a priority. Although I can’t do much slowing down, taking the time to really give myself some care is very important.
Then there is graduation… nuff said, lol
And lastly, I will be working with a friend to jump start her magazine.
Its going to be a good year.
Ha, 2008 was my break from love Barbara.
I agree with your goal, far too often we don’t make ourselves a priority. Indulge yourself when you find some time.
Good luck with graduation and the mag. Keep up updated on both!

Fixing my finances is definitely my biggest priority this year. Do you have an account with ING Eva? I’ve been considering that one for a while. Can anyone else vouch for them too?
We need a post on finances for 2009 cuz I am certainly seeking some guidance.
Eva,
Do you have any New Years Resolutions for SASSY?
I don’t have one yet, I’m waiting on Leah to send me the referral so we both can get some extra money out of it. I’ve heard nothing but positive things from everyone that has it.
We are def working on a post on finances for 2009. No worries. I got you.
Resolutions for SASSY – more post, in the middle of a site overhaul, it’s going to look very different very soon, and some community building. And of course to increase readership.
You got any resolutions for Her Journey?
The Suze Orman book download is perfect timing!
Oh man, do I? I want so many things for Her Journey this year but right now my biggest priorities are team building and increasing readership, similarly to SASSY. This year has to be great! I can’t wait!
And I can’t wait to see what is to come of SASSY!
“Gonna get mine in ’09!” (I jumped on the bandwagon for one of those cheesy slogans of the year. This year I mean it.
)
